Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of Wisconsin was contacted to locate utilities of a very large parking lot in Fox Cities area to locate utilities and Underground Storage tanks of a gas station. The scanning conducted was to minimize opportunity of hitting any utilities, tanks, and other unknowns in the parking lot where asphalt had failed. The entire parking lot was to be excavated and resurfaced to better accommodate customers coming to the fuel station. Using ground penetrating radar, GPRS, Inc. was able to locate electrical, fiber optic, USTs, fuel lines, gas lines, and many more utilities on site. GPRS, Inc. was able to map the USTs and provide depths of the utilities to allow for digging and excavation to occur without causing damage to the utilities. This allows the contractor to save time and money on the project.
