GPRS Scan Before Concrete Cutting - Muskego, Wisconsin

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of Wisconsin was contacted by Stoughton Trailers, LLC. again to locate electrical in their manufacturing plant. The plant is undergoing a massive expansion as they prepare for growth in a proprietary product. GPRS, Inc. was at the site a few weeks earlier to conduct a locate for another electrical conduit. As they began cutting concrete in the next phase of construction, they realized the building plans were wrong again and had hit another set of electrical conduits. Thankfully, nobody was injured during cutting, but soon after GPRS, Inc. was called and able to locate the electrical conduits the very NEXT DAY. The manufacturing plant had hit a large electrical line prior to calling GPRS, Inc. GPRS was able to locate four additional power lines in areas of which they were planning on digging prior to remodeling their new assembly line. After locating these electrical lines, we were able to determine if they did not contact GPRS, Inc. that these lines would have been cut as well.

Using our 400 MHz antenna we were able to see well into the slab and in areas where concrete was previously cut out. Ground penetrating radar is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes and can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating.
