GPR Scan for Conduits in Office Building - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of Wisconsin was contacted by general contractor to conduct a GPR scan before they installed new plumbing lines at an office building in the Greater Milwaukee Area. GPRS was asked to scan areas for potential conduits in multiple areas. The contractor feared hitting the electrical lines that were connected to the cooler units for the fresh produce as well as 480v lines in the back of the store. Additionally, the contractor wanted to avoid saw cutting through known empty conduits. This was because the conduits were to be used again. GPRS located multiple conduits, which would have caused thousands of dollars to repair. GPRS was also able to clear the trenches and identify the critical targets and this led to the project staying on budget, time, and safe.

Ground penetrating radar is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes and can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating.
